Maryland guard Greivis Vasquez won the ACC's player of the week honor after averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in victories over Virginia, N.C. State and Georgia Tech.
But, as mentioned earlier this month, that puts him in some incredible company.
Namely, he's one of only five players in conference history to collect the honor three times in consecutive seasons.
One of them is arguably the greatest college basketball player ever --- and at the very least, in the discussion (David Thompson).
One was a No. 1 overall pick (Tim Duncan).
One is the No. 2 career scorer in league history (J.J. Redick).
One was a three-time first-team all-conference selection who would have wound up in the top five of the ACC's career rebounding list had he stayed for his senior season (Antawn Jamison).
And now Vasquez.
Next up for the Venezuelan? Well, no Maryland player has ever earned the award four times in a season.
Vasquez has two more chances to change that.
