Simple question received at D1scourse headquarters: How often have the most recent ACC's football and men's basketball coaches of the year worked at the same school.
The question popped up after Maryland managed to have both (Ralph Friedgen and Gary Williams) at the same time.
(Williams, for his part, was pleased with his co-worker's success --- not to mention how he earned it. "It's just nice to see," Williams said before pausing and smirking mischievously. "It's nice he got his eighth win against N.C. State, too.")
In any case, this is the 15th time both reigning coach of the year winners worked at the same school --- including the second time the Friedgen/Williams combo collected such honors. In the last 35 years, it's only been done six times.
