The most interesting tidbit from Maryland coach Gary Williams' teleconference today had nothing to do with this year's team.
Instead, it appears Greivis Vasquez might make a return trip to Comcast Center on Feb. 20 for a possible ceremony to honor his No. 21 jersey.
"We're trying to do it during the All-Star weekend," Williams said. "I believe that's the N.C. State game, if it does happen. Nothing's been decided yet. We're trying to get some things done with that."
Williams was already going to have some added incentive in that game. Something about facing his old boss's new school. So that could be quite the night in College Park.
Vasquez ranks second in school history in points (2,171), assists (772) and 3-pointers made (230), fourth in free throws made (439), sixth in field goals made (751) and seventh in steals (191).
He would be the 16th player to have his jersey honored, the eighth to have played for Williams to earn that distinction and the first to be so honored since Steve Blake.
