The general Baltimore/D.C. vicinity was more than well-represented in Friday's MLL Draft.
Virginia midfielder Chris LaPierre was the No. 2 overall pick, followed by Johns Hopkins defenseman Tucker Durkin, Maryland long pole Jesse Bernhardt and Loyola midfielder Josh Hawkins. And that was just the start.
Hopkins, Loyola, Maryland and Virginia combined for 15 of the first 28 picks and 17 overall. Georgetown, Mount St. Mary's and Salisbury each had one player selected.
