You might remember the post from last week that detailed the coaching tenures of every coach in major college football.

Anyway, that chart is already out of date since Oregon's Chip Kelly is leaving Eugene for the Philadelphia Eagles. Accordingly, about 80 coaches move up a spot in the tenure list.
That includes Maryland's Randy Edsall, who is now 63rd out of 125 coaches --- the exact median figure.
That's right, Edsall --- he of the miserable first year in College Park and an injury-plagued second season --- has been on the job longer than 50 percent of the other coaches in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
The length of his tenure? Two years, 14 days and counting. It's just another reminder of how unstable the life of a college football coach really is.
