Charles Mitchell moved into Maryland's starting lineup three games.
Shaquille Cleare was supposed to replace him Sunday night before missing practice Saturday with back spasms.
In a related note, will James Padgett resurface in the starting five?
It's possible the senior could slide back into a more prominent spot after averaging 14.7 minutes over the last three games.
"It's a long season, so I told James not to accept anything," coach Mark Turgeon said. "The first game he didn't start, he had his best game of the year and really played well. James had two good games against Miami last year --- really good games. The problem is we're not running our secondary break well enough and James isn't get the touches he needs. When James touches it, he's pretty good, especially when he has an angle or a situation where he's close to the block."
For the season, Padgett is averaging 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 18.5 minutes. He's averaging 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds since taking on a reserve role.
"His attitiude's good and he works hard," Turgeon said. "We all like James and know what he can do. We just want him to compete a little more in games. That's what's important."
