Verizon Center was packed today for No. 7 Georgetown's date with No. 8 Duke.
It sounded packed as the Hoyas rolled to an 89-77 victory.
Not that it's unusual for folks to be in a celebratory mood when Duke comes to town.
Especially when Duke loses.
I know that from having seen Duke lose over the years in Cole Field House, in Comcast Center, in the St. Pete Times Forum, in HSBC Arena in Buffalo, in the Charlotte Bobcats Arena and in Verizon Center.
Heck, Florida State celebrated with --- to borrow a Coach K term --- verve when it won in Cameron with The Great Al Thornton in 2007.
People like to watch Duke lose.
And Mike Krzyzewski is fully aware of it.
"Whenever when we’re in anyone’s place, the atmosphere is pretty good," Krzyzewski said. "If you invite us to your party, usually people want to have a good time at it."
With that in mind, March 3 in College Park has a chance to be one of the best inside-the-Beltway parties of the year.
