Quick thoughts ...
* Just because the vote was wide doesn't mean Florida State really is vastly better than Boston College. The Eagles' trip to Tallahassee on Oct. 16 shapes up as one of the league's best. As usual, Boston College will exceed expectations.
* Three of the last four projected league champs didn't win. Ruh-roh, Virginia Tech.
* Virginia Tech might wind up with a minimized chance at a player of the year award if Ryan Williams and Tyrod Taylor split the vote. That's something to keep an eye on down the road.
* The Harrises --- Jacory and Montel --- are the best bets to make this vote look bad once the fall is through.
