Maryland has hired Army athletic director Kevin Anderson for the same spot in its athletic director, multiple sources said.
Anderson has worked at West Point since December 2004. He replaces Debbie Yow, who announced her departure for N.C. State in June.
A source said Anderson is expected to be introduced on Tuesday in College Park.
Anderson's hire was first reported by the Washington Post.
The move was made barely two weeks after Wallace D. Loh was hired as Maryland's president on Aug. 17.
Anderson spent much of his career on the West Coast, and much of his background is in fundraising --- not a small point for Maryland's cash-strapped athletic department. He was the director of annual giving at Stanford between 1993 and 1995, and was the assistant athletic director for annual programs and later the associate athletic director for development during a stint at California.
