Officially, Maryland quarterback Jamarr Robinson is listed as injured on this week's depth chart.
Unofficially, that probably is more a reflection of his availability this past week than a predictor of whether he'll play or not Saturday when the Terrapins meet Duke at Byrd Stadium.
Which isn't to say Robinson will or will not play this weekend. It's just to say this isn't the ultimate arbiter in determining whether he will do so.
For what it's worth, Danny O'Brien is listed as the No. 1 quarterback, with Devin Burns at No. 2 and Tyler Smith at No. 3 in Maryland's weekly release.
As for some other depth chart tweaks this week ...
* Tight end Devonte Campbell (shoulder) is listed as injured. He was the No. 3 "F" tight end last week.
* Carl Russell is no longer listed as the No. 3 Anchor behind Justin Anderson and Isaiah Ross.
* Travis Baltz is now ahead of Ted Townsley as the No. 2 kickoff specialist. Nick Ferrara remains the starter.
* Ferrara, not Townsley, is listed as Baltz's backup at punter.
* Townsley, not Baltz, is listed as the top holder. This makes sense, considering Baltz is the guy doing the kicking.
* Snapper Tim Downs now has listed backups. Greg Parcher is the junior's backup for punts, while Steffan Lazerow is the No. 2 snapper for field goals and extra points.
Parcher is a redshirt freshman out of Archbishop Spalding in Anne Arundel County. Lazerow, a junior, is a product of Richard Montgomery High School in Montgomery County who transferred from Rhode Island.
What happended to Clay Belton? Any reason why he left the program? Curious why he came in the 1st place, but seeing the current depth chart, it would be nice if they didnt have to burn a RS on a freshman in an emergency situation

Ryan ---
Not sure about his whereabouts. I just know Beltons not here anymore. You bring up the relevant point --- it didnt make a whole lot of sense for him to land at Maryland considering (a) The influx of younger QBs into the program and (b) The fact he struggled to stay on the field for a bad Miami (Ohio) team. I never had the chance to talk to the guy, but I have my doubts he would ever have been precisely what you describe --- stopgap to avoid using a true freshman.
In any case, the presence of Tony Logan provides something of a buffer for Maryland. But if both Jamarr Robinson and Danny OBrien go down, it wont matter if its a converted wideout, a true freshman or a transfer who didnt stick around under center. Maryland will be in a really tough situation.
