Vellano, Tate among ACC players of the week

Maryland defensive tackle Joe Vellano and safety Kenny Tate are among the ACC's players of the week.

Vellano, who had 10 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks, is the defensive lineman of the week. Tate made 12 stops --- including the game-clinching tackle in the final minute of yesterday's 17-14 defeat of Navy --- and forced two fumbles. He's the defensive back of the week.

Elsewhere in the DMV, Virginia tackle Oday Aboushi was one of three players to share offensive lineman of the week honors.
