Sometimes, plus-minus doesn't accurately what the course of a game felt like.
Maryland's 64-61 loss to Temple --- which featured a four-man reserve crew sparking a rally from 15 points down --- was one of those games.
The numbers across the roster look pretty similar. Granted, Sean Mosley and Cliff Tucker came out at minus-6, the worst numbers on the team. But those aren't ridiculously out of line; Adrian Bowie was plus-1, Terrell Stoglin was even and Pe'Shon Howard was minus-2.
The second-half specific data is telling. Stoglin and Howard were both plus-11, while James Padgett was plus-9 and Haukur Palsson was plus-7. There's no doubt the bench made a massive difference then.
But over the course of the game? Stoglin was minus-11 in the first half, Howard minus-13. And that keeps the data from looking as dramatic as it otherwise would have

When do you think Gary will make the inevitable move of starting Stoglin over Bowie?

Mario ---
Strictly guessing ... the exams break provides plenty of time to assess the situation with the worry of a looming game. If I had to guess when a switch could be made, thats what Id choose. Ill be curious to hear what Gary has to say Tuesday about things in general terms; hes almost certain NOT to make a definitive statement on it until he actually plays a game with a new lineup.
