Just in from Maryland, more confirmation than anything else of things already out there ...
* Gary Crowton will be the Terrapins' offensive coordinator under Randy Edsall.
* Todd Bradford will be Maryland's inside linebackers coach.
* John Dunn will be Maryland's tight ends coach.
Crowton, worked with Edsall at Boston College in the early 1990s. He comes from Louisiana State, where Dunn was a graduate assistant for the last three years. Bradford, who was Southern Mississippi's defensive coordinator, worked with Crowton at Louisiana Tech and Brigham Young.
Only question about this staff...who is strong ties to the local area coach?? I thought Curome Cox could have served this function well. We do need to start regularly securing at least half of the top local players; like we did during Coach Ross's era.

Nga ---
Pretty much no one new to the staff has direct experience working in this area, but there are two additions from Pitt and one (Gattuso) was the Panthers recruiting coordinator at one point.
Everyone --- coaches, players, fans, media --- tends to overstate both the quality and especially the quantity of high-level local talent. And given the lack of interest from local players, the best way for Maryland to attract them is the same method as re-engaging fans: Win, and win big. Its not really a chicken-and-egg issue; thats the formula that will work.

Winning is always good but Vandy did a good job locally and he was not winning. Winning and putting points on the board should not be an issue next year.
